Lost

I stand at the crossroads once again.
I thought I caught a glimpse of you, those features I got so used to.
But when I squinted my eyes and looked more carefully, you had vanished.
You vanished.
How simply the words seem to sound when blurted out just like that.
Maybe I never even had you in the first place.
But alas, that is of no importance anymore.
For the point now is, you're no more.
You're lost.

Clarifications

Mumsy's big day.
Happy birthday Mol(e)! :D
I know I am difficult sometimes, trust me. Have a good one even though I'll be across the ocean for your big day aite? And I only say 'good one' cause without me you definitely won't get to have a 'great one'. Teehee.

So the opera is finally less than a month away -17 days to be exact-, and I've been carsick these past week more than I've been in a long while. The rehearsals are finally proving to be more intense and nerve-wrecking, whatwith us the chorus meeting the French conductor Mr. Benjamin Pionneer; the soloists from places like France, Singapore, Philippines and even Korea. Philippines' boy chorus will be coming this thursday, so that'll be a new addition to our whole chorus. The main chracter/male lead, a Frenchman named Luca, will be arriving sometime this week as well. First ever staging rehearsal happening in 15 hours at the Singapore Esplanade's rehearsing studio. I'm scared poo-less! Well, literally. Wish me luck!

To 'you' :
I guess you forgot something cause I seem to remember that you said you'd leave me alone if I ignored you. It's alright if you don't remember, so long as I do. Oh and I was raised to know I shouldn't talk to strangers, no matter how familiar they are to any of my family members. Forgive me if I'm being rude, but if you would just leave me and my remaining sister alone already, it'd be much appreciated. God bless.

Recent news

Heard the news about a 13 year old British boy father a baby girl with a 15 year old girl? Mercy told me about it a few minutes ago, and boy did it make my eyes pop out. Shan't say anything else, but I wish those two the best of luck.

And now I'm gonna talk about Astro.

For those whose hands are scratching their heads, bald or with hair, Astro is this satellite television network station which offers a wide range of channels. They charge their clients according to the packages you choose, eg Variety, Educational, News, Sports News, etc. Anyways, coming back to what I wanted to say, Astro provides endless entertainment, yes. But endless entertainment would mean that everyone will always want a piece of it. They'd fight for the tv, for example. Either that or one would have to stay up during the wee hours of the night/morning just to catch their show on Astro. And the best thing about it is, it never works when it's raining outside. Never.

So the next time your mama tells you "the tv is the devil!", make sure you let her that know it's not the telly that's 'evil', it's Astro. Unless of course, your mum is like my mumsy, who watches way too much of Astro.

Oh and before I forget, happy V-day! Not many seem happy this year though. To me it's just a day of the year where the florists can suck guys of their money dry and chocolates cost a bomb. Other than the usual drill, couples holding hands and all, throughout the day, nothing worth a big fuss. I remember once I was at City Square on V-day, everything was pink. Seriously, everything. Even guys were in
pinks shirts. And I vaguely remember seeing a lot of pink feathers. Urgh. This year however, I'll be spending my V-day getting carsick and attending the ToH rehearsal in the Stamford Arts Centre. Oh what great joy.

The animals' meeting

Five animals were seated at a table. Above it hung a bulb, swaying from side to side slightly.
The peacock flapped its wings lazily as time dragged on.
An octopus sat across the bird, busy detaching its tentacles from the table surface. It kept failing, and at last it let its legs hang loosely at its side, no longer touching the table.
A pitbull pup sat on the left, its tail wagging all this while.
With the colours of a tuxedo, the penguin shifted uneasily in its seat, clearly uncomfortable with the temperature of its surroundings.
The pig, who filled the last seat, snorted its displeasure when it noticed there wasn't anything on the table to munch on.

In your opinion, what would most likely be discussed at this table?
Answers I've gotten so far :

Chris Yab : they would tell jokes and make fun of the peacock. like hey what do u call a male chicken that only eats pea
Fio : they would talk about a silly joke they heard on the way to the Island of Bora Bora for their 2nd Anniversary
Nick : they talk about how each one is better than the other
Eu Chuan : cock and bull story
Wee Jun : World of Goo
Von : they wont understand each other. all will speak different languages
Farhan : the ozone layer
Alven : lulz. only Von's answer made the most sense.
Subhash : they would talk about the nutcase who put 5 totally random animals together. Oh, then they'll talk about world domination.

Would anyone else care to contribute their answer? There is no right or wrong in any case.

Tag from Fiona

Direction :
Once you've been tagged, you have to write a blogpost or a note on Facebook with 16 random things, facts, habits or goals about you. At the end choose 10 people to be tagged, listing their names and why you chose them. Don't forget to leave them a comment ("You're It") and to read your blog. You can't tag the person who tagged you. Have fun!

*grumble*
I really don't like you very much now Fio. Bleh.

[1]
I have morning sinus, a sickness which makes me wake up with a running nose, almost every single morning of my life. There are times when it can last a whole day even.

[2]
I have two types of people I dub as friends. The hang-out friends and confidant friends.

[3]
My preference in music varies very often, so I get bored of my itunes playlist very easily. But whenever I mention I like a song or a band, it means I really like them a lot. Occasionally I stumble upon some form of music and I never get sick of it even if I play it 17 times straight. eg. I Will Possess Your Heart by Death Cab For Cutie.

[4]
I've learnt and finished grade 8 for both violin and piano before I turned 16. I also have picked up other instruments such as the drums and the accoustic guitar. I aspire to be a musician one day, though not a very famous one but just enough to earn my keep(so that I can go shop for groceries and other stuff in peace).

[5]
Sometimes I cry when I hum to myself an unknown tune.

[6]
I don't remember not ever having a pet at home for more than a week. Currently I have 3 dogs at home(Mocha, Expresso and cappuCino), more than 20 Japanese Koi. I have reared dogs, rabbits, fish and even an eagle I named Hawk once.

[7]
I like being a 'leader', but I don't like to lead sometimes. I like the 'title', but I don't like to stand out front.

[8]
I can blurt out the most random things at times. This is probably because I like thinking a lot.

[9]
I love the pancakes my maid makes, the brand is called Pillsbury. I can eat them plain or with ice-cream.

[10]
During the first 3 years of attending secondary school, I've lost my eldest sister, my only grandmother and my granduncle respectively. Sometimes when I'm alone I talk to the air as if they were around.

[11]
11 is my favourite number, and closely following it 7. I just like their shapes and how they sound.

[12]
I have a thing for songs with my name(or anything close) in it. What Sarah Said - Death Cab For Cutie, Judith - A Perfect Circle, Sarah - Eskimo Joe. Anything but Que Sera Sera though.

[13]
Incorrect grammar or broken English frustrates me. I correct my friends and family at times. I believe it helps me improve my English as well as helping others improve theirs. I would also like to expand my vocabulary.

[14]
Occasionally I read my older blog posts and laugh at my own compositions.

[15]
I make a mean 'mashed potato and boiled eggs', a recipe I acquired from my late sister. We used to compete to see who've finished making theirs faster when I was younger.

[16]
When listening to songs, I look out for the tune followed by its lyrics. When both appeal to me, I'll most probably get addicted to said song.

Haunting pain

During some time last year

I made my way to my bathroom, running if I remembered clearly cause I was in a hurry to have my bath.

I slipped, fell and hit my head against the sink in my bathroom.

Result?

I fell on my fat arse, bruised the back of my head pretty badly and shamed myself. Oh and did I mention upon impact, the back of my head swelled really bad and I believe there might be a blood clot there? It hurt a lot, and I mean a lot. So much that I couldn't get up when I hit the ground cause it took all of me to concentrate on trying to not feel the pain. Plus my sister and my mum were both asking me if I was okay and telling me to rub the bruise. The pain at the back of my head was the worst I have ever gone through.

Funny how one little fall, just one tiny slip, can haunt me, no waken me even, and keep me from getting my shut-eye time so often nowadays.

p/s : What if I really do have a blood clot? Now wouldn't that be awesome. [my bestie Jack kept telling me to go see a doctor but I kept telling him no]

'Gummy' business

For you people,
who think everything is going wrong
and you've got no one to turn to.
Truth is,
you think you need your 'yellow gummy', that's all.
Just cause everyone looks happier and more content,
doesn't mean you need the same things as everyone else.
So you feel like poop right now,
I'm sure you're going to be fine pretty soon.
If not then pray harder, or something.
Get out of that hole you're stuck in, crawl if you must.
Don't give up just yet alright?

cause I don't think that they'd understand.
When everything is meant to be broken,
I just want you to know who I am."

RainE

As the sounds of exploding fireworks echo through the night outside my window, I can't help but wonder if you can hear the explosions in this sky we share. Do you miss us? What you would say if you were still here? It's funny cause sometimes I can't even remember what you look like anymore. And somehow the only thing that's proof you were once here are the things you've left behind. The pictures, poems, drawings, memories and your music album. You never got to hear me say goodbye, I wasn't even speaking to you the night before. Occasionally denial kicks in when our family gathers, and I half expect you to barge in the front door and say, 'Surprise! I never left'. But I've grown accustomed to dreading the sirens of ambulances and listening to people tell me they're sorry you're no more. Some said you jumped. Fools, those people were real fools. But I won't deny that you did scare me the very last time I looked at you. Why? Because it didn't even look like you.

Together

All together in this one room.

Laughing and dancing just to enjoy the moment, to savour it.

A soft tune plays in the background.

The candles are close to burning out, the wax runs low.

Its light dances as the flames change shape, almost as if the flames had minds of their own.

In this room, where the outside seems to be so far away.

Somehow rather the candlelight seems to be the only thing separating us from the darkness that's out there.

From a distance a dog howls, a sad cry echoing through the lonely night.

But nothing else matters.

For we're together in this room.
